In the future, please post to pgsql-cygwin@postgresql.org instead of sending private email so others can benefit too. > I tried to install Postgresql from the cygwin suite (I've got years of > experience with pgsql on unix, first version I used was like in '95). > > [part of excellent trouble report snipped...] > > >/bin/postmaster: ServerLoop: handling reading 6 > >/bin/postmaster: ServerLoop: handling reading 6 > >/bin/postmaster: ServerLoop: handling writing 6 > >/bin/postmaster child[347]: starting with (postgres -d9 -v131072 -p > >template1 ) > >FindExec: found "/bin/postgres" using argv[0] > >2001-04-26 20:59:39 [347] DEBUG: connection: host=127.0.0.1 > >user=administrator database=template1 > >2001-04-26 20:59:39 [347] DEBUG: InitPostgres > >/bin/postmaster: BackendStartup: pid 347 user administrator db template1 > >socket 6 > >ZeroProcSemaphore: semctl(id=0,SETVAL) failed: Invalid argument > >2001-04-26 20:59:39 [347] DEBUG: proc_exit(255) > >2001-04-26 20:59:39 [347] DEBUG: shmem_exit(255) > >2001-04-26 20:59:39 [347] DEBUG: exit(255) > >/bin/postmaster: reaping dead processes... > > See below for all versions of relevant software installed.
