I have also noticed a small error:

a.. Remove old *.backup files when we do pg_stop_backup() (Bruce)

a.. This prevents a large number of *.backup files from existing in 
pg_xlog/.

I think there should not be a point on the left of the second line because 
it's the details of the first line.
