Where did you get this RPM?  Initdb is very much required.  Even if the RPM
 runs initdb for you, it would still have to include it.

Consider subscribing.  There is a constant stream of useful advice for the
 Pgsql newbie on this list, and if you ask a question that has already been
 answered, you are more likely than not to be directed to the list archives.
