Whichever well maintained distro is your favourite.

If you like ubuntu use it,

8.4 is in "squeeze" (current debian testing)
or do you need 9.0 ?

If you need 8.4 can you use "lucid lynx"  ubuntu 10.04 , beta
available now.  full release due out real soon now.
