Hi,
I've read the mails about Purify et all and concluded that there's
interest in memory-checking tools. So I wanted to give my 2 cents:
Check out 'checker', which works on Linux/intel and Solaris/SPARC
machines. Never really used it myself, but its documentation looks
promising. I couldn't find an ftp-site in the docs though.
Also, try to find 'electric fence'. Definitely works on Linux/intel, don't
know about other platforms. This I did use a couple of times, and then it
saved my life :). It gives the most usefull information when a debugger is
connected to the running process.
