We have an application implemented in C ++ to connect to PostgreSQL library is used Libpq.dll. To connect the application to the PostgreSQL server is installed psqlODBC 9.3, when you use it, there were several questions:

1.       What is the reason that when you install the installer psqlODBC no prescribed path to the PostgreSQL library in the Path variable in environment variables Windows?

2.       Installation psqlODBC 9.3 required to install the package "Microsoft Visual C ++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)", earlier this was not necessary. Whether this feature is displayed in the documentation? In later versions of the installation package is the same mandatory?
