Padma,

I has exactily the same problem than your.

The unique difference is version 8.0.0 beta 5.

The installation behavior fine at final, but when initiate the service,
BUM . . . show the same errors describes by Padma.

I see the server running properly in windows services.
   - prostgre.exe (1) OK
   - prostgre.exe (2) in and out from Task Manager.
   - pg_ctl.exe OK
   - postmaster.exe OK

When i run pgAdmin III 1.2.0, I can't connecting for Server, show the
same errors describes by Padma.

I am crazy to run this SGBD native under Windows XP Professional, but my
experience is bad, much bad.

Help us, please.

Best Regards,
