Hi Thom, I noticed that your email server chain has some problem, so
some of the recipients of your email from the list actually rejected it as
spam/invalid. For instance, my local copy of this email (after having
gone through my mail provider) has the following header:
Authentication-Results: phl-mx-02.messagingengine.com;
dkim=none (no signatures found);
dmarc=fail policy.published-domain-policy=none
policy.applied-disposition=none
policy.evaluated-disposition=none
policy.override-reason=trusted_forwarder
policy.arc-aware-result=fail
(p=none,has-list-id=yes,d=none,d.eval=none,override=trusted_forwarder,arc_aware_result=fail)
policy.policy-from=p header.from=linux.com;
iprev=pass smtp.remote-ip=217.196.149.56
(malur.postgresql.org);
spf=pass
smtp.mailfrom=
pgsql-translators-owner+M91739-780988@lists.postgresql.org
smtp.helo=malur.postgresql.org
The bounce messages for users in the outlook.com domain look more or
less like this:
550 5.7.515 Access denied, sending domain LINUX.COM doesn't meet the required authentication level. The sender's domain
inthe 5322.From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender. To learn how to fix this
see:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=2319303 Spf= Pass , Dkim= Fail , DMARC= Fail
Now, I don't know if you're going to receive this email, as I've noticed
that there's a domain in the middle of your delivery chain
(forwardemail.com) that seems to reject emails from kurilemu.de. Even
worse, it appears that your provider rejects mailing list email traffic
coming from yourself, such as this one,
thom@linux.com
host mx1.forwardemail.net [2a02:6ea0:d71e::2]
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
550 5.1.1 Message likely to be spoofing attack and was rejected due to lack of SPF alignment with From header
which was a complain about this email:
https://www.postgresql.org/message-id/CAA-aLv4EaKygRp5pRFgNK6wRJ+u=zx5BrTQhrVa_QZoO_nr2-A@mail.gmail.com
I suspect you're using the linux.com outgoing server incorrectly.
(Sending directly via gmail instead of using linux.com's SMTP server?)
