List pgsql-bugs

I encountered this last week as well. (Windows 10 /64)

I don’t have admin priv. on my local laptop, but have elevated permissions in special folders.

Installed both 13.10 / 15  (from link on PG page to EDB) into my ‘elevated ‘ folder  (had to copy paste PATH into installer)

Ran great for a few days.

I don’t use it much, but both installations  railed.  Couldn’t start. Didn’t make sense to me (15 yr DBA) Didn’t take the time to investigate properly.

I used provided uninstaller and it uninstalled without error.

Reinstall attempt from orig D/L file.  And I got this mentioned error. 5-6 times (every time) with various ‘fiddling’ of windows settings, to no avail, and also no real error message besides above)

Next day I deleted orig installer files,  redownloaded installer (same versions), installed as above and worked on first try.

Now, there are a lot of moving parts on my corp development machine, so I just attrib to ‘Windows’ or an ‘corp update’ or something. ( I’m not a window guy, so I just shrug it off sometimes)

Sorry for the long tale without exact info, but may help someone.

Hi,

Can you also please share the installation log? It must be present in system TEMP with the name starting with installbuilder or install-edb

Sure, here it is:

1. I use Windows 10 Education x64

I want to mention that I also tried some other versions, but it didn't work either.

3. After I downloaded Postgresql app, I started to install it on C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL.

4. I kept all of the components (PostgreSQL, pgAdmin4, Stack Builder, etc.).

5. I set the password with just letters in it.

6. Port: 5432 (default)

7. I selected "Default locale" to be used by the new database cluster.

8. Started the installation process and at the end of it I got the message I mentioned earlier.

I also want to say that I tried various options to fix this problem. I created a new user and changed permissions data - Properties - Security; installed in the other directory (D:/ ,  C:/ without Program Files), installed Visual C++, but none of them helped me.

If you need any additional information please let me know.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Edi Keškić

Dear,

At the end of the installation a window pops up saying "failed to load sql modules into the database cluster". I followed some instructions on the internet, disabled Windows security, downloaded the latest version of the program, but it didn't work.

Can you please help me with this issue?

Sincerely,

Edi Keškić
