Storing & retieving gif/jpeg - Mailing list pgsql-general

I want to build a web based application using Postgres, ineed to store in
the databse an image file (gif or jpg) and be ble to display the image in
the browser, is this  posible?, can anyone can give me a few hints abot
this?
