Job Title: Sr. Postgres DBA

Candidates day to day responsibilities:
This person will be tasked with upgrading and migrating databases by:
- Plan, install, and configure PostgreSQL database systems (i.e. PostgreSQL v9.x to v13.x and EDB Postgres Advanced Server v9.x to v13.x) that meet business objectives and the needs of end-users
- Develop, implement, and test database backup and recovery plans
- Troubleshoot and debug problems in existing database systems, and find new ways to improve their speed, functionality, and scalability
- Manage database and data security by controlling access to data through authentication, authorization, and auditing
- Perform tests to ensure database performance and security, as well as data integrity
- Document and administer database policies, procedures, and standards
- Participating in 24x7 on-call rotation and being available to perform weekend OS/DBA maintenance activities on database servers
Required skills:
- Experience as a Postgres DBA, with advanced hands-on knowledge of:
- Performance tuning, porting, and partitioning
- SQL Query Optimization
- Security
- REPMGR v4.x or v5.x/EFM v3.x or v4.x
- BARMAN v2.x/PgBackRest v2.x/BART v2.x
- Pglogical v2.x/EDB XDB Replication v6.x
- BDR Replication
