We are hiring for a PostgreSQL Performance Expert role at Microsoft, available only in the United States, with primary location in Redmond, WA, and remote options may be available depending on candidate fit.
This role is part of the Azure PostgreSQL engineering team and focuses on deep PostgreSQL internals, performance tuning, and customer‑facing technical problem solving.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, produce, and deliver software to improve reliability, scalability, performance, security, and efficiency of PostgreSQL services.
- Contribute to fixing, enhancing, and supporting production services, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to implement innovative solutions that enhance scalability and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, bug/issue triage, and support well‑informed engineering decisions, ensuring delivery of high‑quality technical solutions.
- Work closely with global PostgreSQL experts on deep technical challenges involving database internals.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- In‑depth expertise in PostgreSQL internals and performance tuning.
- Strong debugging and diagnostic capabilities.
- Hands‑on experience working directly with customers on complex database workloads.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, support, and product teams.
