Hello Lorenzo,

 PostgreSQL v6.4 which is, currently in Beta and scheduled for release
Oct. 1, is planned to have an IPV6 type (can't remember what it was
decided to call it).  You might just want to grab the current snapshot
and see what it has to offer.
