I have a full-time opening for a PostgreSQL DBA in Indianapolis, IN.
Here are the details:
3+ years of Oracle or SQL Server DBA experience
- Has supported large data bases with high volumes of records
- Linux experience / understanding
- Desire DBA experience with PostgreSQL (8.3 version desired) on Linux
. Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related field is
required; an MBA or MIS is preferred
- Desire strong communication skills / teaching others / full life cycle
SDLC knowledge and experience
. Minimum three years experience with production responsibility for
operational, enterprise-scale databases including capacity and storage
planning..
. Backup and recovery of highly available enterprise databases
. Evaluating and installing database updates and patches
o Troubleshooting database problems
o Monitoring database usage and capacity
o Installing and configuring new database instances
o Backup and restore of database contents
o Working with large databases (over 1T)
o Tuning database configuration for performance and reliability
o Experience setting up and supporting database clustering and
replication services
o Assisting developers in tuning the data model and tuning SQL queries
for performance
o Working with OS administrator to ensure proper OS configuration
o Assisting with disaster recovery planning
