Hiya,

Well that certainly matters very much, using win98... I guess that there's no 'clean' way to shut it down on win98 and
killis the only way? On winNt/win2k/winxp/winNewer you'd stop the service, using  

net stop "cygwin ipc daemon 2"

but there's no services in win9x/winMe yet.

Perhapsp that doesn't help you very much, but I figured that I could give at least *some* answer rather than no answer
atall :-)
