seems pgbackrest always asks for archive_mode =on but I assume in archive_commnad I can instruct to not use/generate  the WAL files. I trieded archive_command="/bint/rue" but getting error.

Any other suggestions ?



"PgBackrest without PITR" sounds like pg_basebackup.
