Hi,

Just wanting to know, is upgrading/updating extension an optional exercise or it is best practice to do so.
We are upgrading AWS RDS PostgreSQL and it appears to be a manual exercise.
What is the pros and cons for upgrading and not upgrading the extension?
Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Ed

Extensions are like any other piece of software. It's best practice to keep it up to date if it is reasonable and/or there are important bug fixes. Review the release notes for any extensions you are using to see if there are any new features or fixes that are relevant to your usage.
