I found it somewhere, but not anywhere that could be counted on and machine readable.
LMDE defaults to i386, so you need to include a arch=amd64 in the heading to the deb string.

Does Mint provide some "this distro release is like Debian $whatever" info in /etc/os-release that we could use?
