You can create the foreign key constraints with the "ON DELETE CASCADE" option. Then Postgres will handle dependencies automatically for you.
But that means that *all* DELETEs will be cascaded.
Unfortunately, there is no DELETE FROM ... CASCADE option (similar to DROP)
