I've attached an updated version of the patch.

I'm now using github to track the changes on the patch, so I've included the commit sha in the file name of the latest commit that this patch includes, but I've also included the date.

Please see https://github.com/david-rowley/postgres/commits/invtrans for what's been changed.

Right now I don't think there is very much left to do. Perhaps the documents need some examples of creating inverse transition functions, I was not sure, so I left them out for now.
