I am trying to install postgresql on windows 2000 using the steps as
outlined in
http://people.freebsd.org/~kevlo/postgres/portNT.html
Everything seemed to compile and configure ok up until step.14. I get
the folowing message from cygwin:

konstant@PHOENIX /
$ ipc-daemon&
[1] 704

konstant@PHOENIX /
$ postmaster -i&
[2] 1160

konstant@PHOENIX /
$ C:\cygwin\usr\local\pgsql\bin\postgres.exe: ***
recreate_mmaps_after_fork_failed
Startup failed - abort
