DeltaSoft Solutions is looking for a Senior PostgreSQL Engineer to join our team supporting production PostgreSQL environments for banks across the Middle East.
Position: Senior PostgreSQL Engineer – High Availability & Infrastructure
Experience: 5–7 years
Location: Remote. We are open to candidates globally, although our current operational setup makes Cyprus and India our preferred locations.
Employment: Full-time
Technical Requirements
- Strong hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience (minimum 3–4 years) in production environments.
- PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, query optimisation, replication, upgrades and troubleshooting.
- Practical experience with Patroni, etcd, HAProxy, PgBouncer and PostgreSQL high availability.
- Backup and recovery using pgBackRest/Barman, including PITR and disaster recovery.
- Strong Linux administration and experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and Docker/Podman.
- Working knowledge of Bash/Python scripting, monitoring and infrastructure automation.
The Role
The successful candidate will work alongside our lead PostgreSQL engineer, taking independent ownership of production support, complex troubleshooting, HA deployments, upgrades and infrastructure-related issues.
We are specifically looking for an engineer whose primary technical expertise is PostgreSQL, rather than a general DevOps engineer with occasional database exposure.
