The correct checksums are:

gator:Downloads dpage$ md5 postgresql-8.4.2-1-windows*
MD5 (postgresql-8.4.2-1-windows-binaries.zip) = a904bfd3d4870387ee3f7f49c1c851a3
MD5 (postgresql-8.4.2-1-windows.exe) = 1083f5445ce3bdd7748f9358c49c103e

Both files were downloaded and verified from the download pages above.
The zip file unpacks with no errors, and the digital signature on the
installer checks out.

I imagine something has corrupted Adam's download as the files are
clearly correct on the download servers, and none of the other
thousands of downloaders this week have complained that I'm aware of.
I'd suggest clearing any caches and trying again.
