Typically installing postgres to your OS creates an "initial DB" and starts the
postgres server daemon running. If not then you'll need to run initdb

psql: could not connect to server: No such file or directory

        Is the server running locally and accepting

        connections on Unix domain socket "/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432"?

 

There are no files under /var/run/post*

 

What am I missing here?
