RE: running Postgresql on Mandrake 7.0 - Mailing list pgsql-novice

I don't know what Mandrake 7 is, but for my RedHat 6.1 system I installed
the rpms and then ran "initdb --pgdata=/var/lib/pgsql
--pblib=/usr/lib/pgsql" .  Then "/etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql start"

        they are written for a binary or source installation.  Any
suggestions?
