This lock should be safe, as pointed by Alvaro and Jaime earlier in this

as ginInsertCleanup() can be called concurrently.
Also, since 38710a374ea the ginInsertCleanup() call must be fixed:
- ginInsertCleanup(&ginstate, false, true, &stats);
+ ginInsertCleanup(&ginstate, true, &stats);
