oh.     that first HOST line will only allow IP 0.0.0.0, hardly likely
to be a valid address.  if you want to allow connections from ALL IPs,
use 0.0.0.0/0  or 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0

the second line allows connections to localhost only.
