quoting from cygwin /usr/share/doc/postgresql-7.4.5/FAQ_MSWIN
"3. Once the download and install process is complete, open a Cygwin
shell and do the following for a basic installation:
3a. Start ipc-daemon2 for shared memory support. To do this,
enter the command "ipc-daemon2 &". This program
needs to be running anytime you start the PostgreSQL server
(postmaster) or initialize a database (initdb)."
on the mirror that I use
(mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/cygwin/release/postgresql)
postgresql-7.4.5-1.tar.bz2 from august is the latest (other than an
8.0.0 beta from october). The same files are on sources.redhat.com.
Is there any chance of geting a rebuilt cygwin package with more recent
docs and 7.4.6?
