Hello, all,
just a simple little question: What does basically mean the shell reply
"basename: not found"?
I still get error messages in initializing the database using
"initdb -D /usr/share/postgresql/data"
Here's what I get:
-------------------- Schnipp! --------------------
bash-2.05b$ initdb -D /usr/share/postgresql/data
basename: not found
The files belonging to this database system will be owned by user
"postgres".
This user must also own the server process.
The database cluster will be initialized with locale C.
Fixing permissions on existing directory /usr/share/postgresql/data... chmod:
changing permissions of `/usr/share/postgresql/data': Permission denied
stty: not found
failed.
-------------------- Schnapp! --------------------
I reinstalled CygWin using the latest versions.
I included
crypt 1.0-1
cygpic 2.01-1
cygwin 1.5.1-1
gcc 3.2-3
libncurses7 5.3-3
libreadline5 4.3-4
perl 5.8.0-3
readline 4.3-4
zlib 1.1.4-3
or higher versions.
Didn't find where to get
Sun JDK 1.4.1
Ant 1.5
"ipc-daemon2" is running as service.
User "postgres" has been created and has got the user rights on
"/usr/share/postgresql/data".
What else can I do to get the database initialized?!?
Despairing
