Was going to look into this recently, but have been told by two people
that it would definitely corrupt all data, etc.  Haven't used it, but
don't think they've be very wrong.

Has anyone implemented this and can give us some yes/no experiences with
it?

If it works then great, but if it doesn't then the author should be
notified, etc.
