importing and exporting large objects - Mailing list pgsql-general

Hi there,

I have the following situation:

Postgres server on a linux / Unix box up and running

and

A PC running windows 98
On the PC I have some files.
I'd like to save those files into the database instead of saving in the
filesystem.

What is the general approach in these cases ???
How do you import a file into a database field ???
