Like mine, your distro probably uses /tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432 
$ ll /tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432
srwxrwxrwx 1 postgres postgres 0 Aug  1 06:33 /tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432=
