You may want to switch to : clock_timestamp() that record the time of
writing (now() stays stuck on the calling time)

May be something closer to :
CREATE TRIGGER triggername
BEFORE UPDATE ON myschema.mytable
FOR EACH ROW EXECUTE PROCEDURE mytriggerproc
