Hi all,

I'm announcing the latest version of pg_live which is now available for
download.

I've made an application on the postgres announcement page but I'm also
passing on this information to you as well.

cheers

Robert

The latest and greatest version of pg_live, 8.3.0.1, is ready for download at
http://205.237.195.102/ .

For those who don't know, pg_live is the community's Linux Live CD, and is now
4 years old! The objective of pg_live is to introduce PostgreSQL to both the
general public and seasoned DBA.

The pg_live Live CD is a network aware Linux based OS with a GUI environment.
It has a number of services that includes: a PHP enable Apache webserver,
SSH, an ident server and of course PostgreSQL 8.3.

The PostgreSQL server has been installed with all its contribution modules. It
has been compiled with the following procedural languages: plpgsql, plperl,
pltcl, plpython, plruby, pljava and plr.

You can also sucessfully develop and use scripts under a number of programming
environments, with the relevant connectivity libraries to postgres using R,
tcl, python, perl and java (JDBC). The OpenSSL toolkit is also available for
developing authentication and encryption solutions.

SLONY and PGPOOL-II, the replication and connection pooling solutions are also
included.

Three well known PostgreSQL clients are present: psql, pgadmin3 and
phppgadmin.

pg_live includes thousands of pages of reference documentation as well as many
HOWTO's.

Finally, for the incurably bored, pg_live can be configured to play
multi-media and can be coaxed to sing and dance too.
