No ~ operator for box, point - Mailing list pgsql-hackers

decibel=# select box '((0,0),(2,2))' ~ point '(1,1)';
ERROR:  operator does not exist: box ~ point
LINE 1: select box '((0,0),(2,2))' ~ point '(1,1)';

Any reason this doesn't exist?
