We are actively looking for a database internals engineer.
The DB Engineer will be the main engineer in charge of incorporating DB engines (MySQL, Postgres, etc.) into embedded products, designing and implementing proprietary extensions to these engines, incorporating patches from the open source community, providing an interface into the DB engine for other modules of the system.
Requirements:
. BS in CS minimum, MS preferred (top school and3.5+ GPA clearly preferred, but highly qualified candidates who don't fully match this profile will be given careful consideration);
. a minimum of 3 years practical experience developing database engine internals as well as thorough understanding of database engine design and implementation; this experience could be in a commercial setting or open source, but in any case must include exposure to different database implementations; note that experience with only *using* existing database systems will not be sufficient;
. this is not a purely DBA job, or a purely DB engine implementation job, but rather a mix of the two; strong knowledge of existing DB products and their differences is necessary, as well as a capability to adapt the existing products to fit custom requirements;
