That may be the case.  This was an impression formed mostly at the
booth, where I was fielding questions from people who were explicitly
asking me whether Postgres was going to be around to compete with
MySQL.

Explaining how licensing and publicity worked was helpful in this
context.  But also, given that this is a discussion I sometimes find
myself having in my day job, it's an issue I'm particularly sensitive
to.  (It's also why I was so happy to hear Aaron Thul's (sp?)
presentation.)
