Dear Adam,
I am currently rebuilding both wxGTK 2.5 and pgAdmin3 packages under Mandrake
and SuSE. Here is some feedback:
1) SuSE 8.2
In progress. Seems to work great.
2) Mandrake 9.1
Mandrake 9.1 comes with autoconf-2.13-16mdk and automake-1.4-21.p6.mdk.
Mandrake Cooker does not offer newer versions. Therefore, I am currently
rebuilding these two packages from the RedHat updated version.
This is OK for downloading from http://snake.pgadmin.org, but if pgAdmin3
makes it in the next Mandrake distro, we may be asked to provide a script
compatible with autoconf-2.13-16mdk and automake-1.4-21.p6.mdk.
Adam, do you think it would be possible to downgrade the features of your
script to have it work under autoconf-2.13-16mdk and automake-1.4-21.p6.mdk?
3) /usr/bin/wxgtk2ud-2.5-config issue
Presently, rebuilding pgAdmin3 SRPM is only possible if we create a symlink
wx-config -> /usr/bin/wxgtk2ud-2.5-config.
For inclusion in a Linux distribution, SRPMs need to rebuild without hastle.
Therefore, we need the configure script to look for wxgtk2ud-2.5-config
directly. This is probably an issue for Debian packages too.
I don't know if this issue has been fixed, if it was, disgard item 3).
:)
Cheers,
Jean-Michel
