pg_shadow password - Mailing list pgsql-sql

Hi all, this is my first message to the list.

My question is how can i hide or encrypt the passwd field in pg_shadow?
I remember some PASSWORD() function to do that in old versions of
pgsql, but it didn't work on my db. (7.0.2)
