Distributors' needs are very different from our needs, Peter.  Maybe a 
potential Red Hat 8 can do such.  However, the backwards compatibilty issue 
is some rub.

Our PGDG packages, OTOH, don't have to be limited in that way.  Which is one 
reason you may want to start there, not the Red H?at package (which is close, 
but not identical, to ours).
