Chapter 9. What’s New in PPEM 2.6

PPEM 2.6 introduces the following major upgrades and improvements:
Added the ability to visualize active session history.
For more information, refer to Chapter 52.
This functionality is in the beta phase and has limitations. It will be expanded and updated in further releases.
Implemented the two-step migration procedure of BiHA clusters, which requires less downtime in cluster operation.

PPEM 2.6 also includes the following functional upgrades and improvements:
PPEM repository database.
Added the capability to rename the schema currently in use (for example, if the default
publicschema cannot be used).For more information, refer to Section 33.2.
Stabilized the housekeeping rules functionality, which helps to avoid table overflow. This functionality is no longer in the beta phase.

Alerts and triggers.
Added new notification channels.

Error messages.
Extended the list of error messages displayed when entering a password that does not follow the password policy. These messages are displayed when creating a user, resetting a user password, and changing a password during the first login to the web application.

Authentication rules.
Added the ability to specify the path to the additional file or directory when editing the
pg_hba.confconfiguration file containing include directives.For more information, refer to Section 57.2 and Section 57.1.
BiHA.
Added the ability to add a referee node when creating a BiHA cluster from an existing instance.

Instance management.
Improved the user interface pages for creating a new instance, creating an instance from a backup, and adding an existing instance.
Added the ability to specify the systemd service name when creating a new instance or an instance from a backup.
Added the ability to modify instances in the
Errorstate.

Cluster management.
Changed the replica naming format. Replicas can now be more easily identified within the list.
Agent configuration.
Updated the command list for the
PG_SYS_Valias in thesudoersfile required for PPEM agent operation.For more information, refer to Section 21.4.
Security.
Implemented a range of improvements to enhance Content Security Policy (CSP) support.
Eliminated the following vulnerabilities found by penetration test:
Fixed SQL injection indicator.
Removed weak TLS cipher suites.
Updated gRPC.
