When installing, upgrading, or using PPEM, strictly adhere to this documentation and the provided instructions.

Skipping instruction steps or following them in the wrong order may result in PPEM misconfiguration and render it either partially or completely inoperable, or cause data loss.

For example, do not skip the granting all necessary privileges to the PPEM service users when following installation and setup instructions.

In most cases, a PPEM administrator also has privileged access to the servers where the manager and agents are installed.

Do not use this access to interfere with the normal PPEM operation or modify its internal components. This may render PPEM either partially or completely inoperable, or cause data loss.

For example, do not create, update, alter, or delete any objects in the repository database, and do not run maintenance tasks such as vacuuming on it.

Modern Linux distributions offer security-enhancing tools, including SELinux and the Astra Linux Special Edition information protection suite, that add extra restriction layers.

Do not configure security-enhancing tools on servers with PPEM installed, as PPEM normal operation is neither guaranteed nor recommended when using such tools.

For any PPEM-related issues, first refer to the troubleshooting instructions in this documentation.

If the issues persist, do not apply any undocumented solutions. Instead, contact the Postgres Pro support team.

For example, do not fix failed repository database migrations by manually connecting to the DBMS which manages the database and issuing SQL commands.

Furthermore, do not modify the logical or physical structure of the repository database or install additional extensions, for example, for data masking or transformation. Such actions may disrupt the normal operation of PPEM. Any direct changes to the PPEM repository must be made only as described in the documentation or as advised by the technical support team.
