37.6. Viewing Cluster Events #

Events such as discovering clusters and nodes, promoting nodes, and demoting nodes can significantly affect DBMS performance. PPEM tracks all cluster events for auditing topology changes and troubleshooting performance issues.

To view cluster events:

  1. In the navigation panel, go to InfrastructureClusters.

  2. Click the name of the cluster.

  3. In the navigation panel, go to Change history.

The table of cluster events with the following columns will be displayed:

  • Date and time: The date and time of the cluster event.

  • Node: The node associated with the cluster event.

  • Command: The type of the cluster event.

    Possible values:

    • Adding node: The initial discovery of the node.

    • Deleting node: A previously discovered node is deleted or can no longer be discovered.

    • Discovering cluster: The initial discovery of the cluster.

    • Promoting node: Promoting a standby/follower node to primary/leader as a result of switchover or failover.

    • Demoting node: Demoting the primary/leader node to standby/follower or standalone.

    • Changing node role: Any node role change, such as enabling or disabling the maintenance mode for a standby node.

    • Changing node status: Any replication status change, such as ActiveInactive.

    • Changing cluster health: Any cluster health change, such as HealthyNo leader.

  • User: The user that initiated the cluster event. If the event is initiated by an agent, an empty value is displayed.
