2.1. OLAP Data Processing Scenarios #
Postgres Pro AXE includes, but is not limited to, the following OLAP data processing scenarios:
Reducing the OLAP workload on the OLTP server and generating operating reports faster.
Providing a history of analytical table updates and searching for historical data among infrastructure and security events.
Using excess capacity of standby servers for processing the OLAP data.
Shifting the OLAP workload from an overloaded OLAP cluster (e.g., Greenplum) to Postgres Pro AXE.
Building a full-fledged data warehouse based on the Data Vault methodology.
To implement any of these scenarios, ensure that requirements specific to your organization are met. It is recommended to first meet the requirements related to the complexity and cost of deployment.
