Tom, I'm probably not the best person to ask.
I was trying to use VB 6 Professional edition - the
ADO classes work with the ODBC Drivers provided from the
Postgresql website.
However, I found performance over a WAN (128k leased
line) was TOO SLOW, and have switched to a web-based
solution. I am now using PHP3/Apache to talk to
Postgres on the server, and the client PCs are just
using Internet Explorer and/or Netscape.
This way, even users dialing in with 33.6k modems get
a fast, reliable service. (much less overhead, since all
the queries are called on the server and only the results
are transmitted)
